I am a Registered Psychotherapist who works with individuals and couples. I have been working in the Mental Health field since 2012 and am very excited to be a part of the Journey Well Team! I grew up in Oxford County and am the mother of two amazing kids! I believe that you are the author of your own story. My goal is to provide a warm, safe, and non-judgemental space within which you can share your concerns and hopes; allowing you to grow, explore and understand your emotions and how they impact you and your relationships. I am committed to understanding your unique needs, strengths, and goals.

In our work together, I will tailor my approach to you and what best fits your needs. I use various approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution Focused, Narrative Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy. All my work is trauma and attachment informed.

I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression and the impacts of trauma. I support couples and individuals to overcome relationship challenges and deepen their connections to each other.

As we develop a therapeutic relationship, my hope is that you will find a place to be heard, understood, validated and empowered to be the person or couple you desire to be.

Promoting healing and wholeness through the full and healthy expression of ones spirit. Im BJ, (Brenda Jo if you’re curious), and my specialty is spiritually-integrated psychotherapy. Major elements of this practice are sitting with people in their difficult times, exploring their hardest emotions. My practice is connection-oriented, collaborative, and adaptive to the needs of clients. After building a space where people can truly feel safe while sharing emotions, stories, world views and spiritual beliefs and practices, I encourage clients to lead by setting goals for their therapy and determining whether goals are being met. My first field of study was comparative religious studies (religions of the world). It fascinates me how religion affects people, so I earned a BA at Florida State Univ. By its effects on culture even non-believers are affected by the religion/s of their community. When I decided to become a hospital spiritual care practitioner (chaplain) I earned a Master of Theological Studies at Huron University College and then a Master of Psycho-Spiritual Studies through the Toronto School of Theology. Spiritually-integrated psychotherapy utilizes standard psychotherapy practices such as (my favorites) narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and compassion focused therapy, while making room for spiritual beliefs and practices, and weaving in spiritual themes like identity, transformation, belonging, forgiveness, meaning, purpose … the list goes on. Much of my experience has been related to grief. I look forward to working with teens and with adults of all ages, especially but not limited to mental health needs like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and addiction. I am a mother to four grown children and a grandmother to two little boys. I love to make costumes and jewelry, and read Tolkien. BJ Dunbar, BA, MTS, MPS, RP (qualifying)

I am a Registered Psychotherapist who has been in practice for 14 years. In that time, I have worked in community mental health settings, as well as private practice in London, Woodstock, and St Thomas, Ontario. In 2019, I moved into private practice full time.

The focus of my work is on creating a safe space for clients to engage with their story in a vulnerable way. In that setting, we can begin to address a variety of concerns that are causing distress. Areas of concern that I can support clients in addressing include couple relationships, trauma, mental health, particularly anxiety, and life transitions. Models that I favour include EMDR, Emotion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and DBT, as well mindfulness/meditation.

When I’m not seeing clients, I’m engaged in one of my many other activities. I have 2 young children, which keep me busy, and I am involved in the community through local initiatives. In my downtime, I love reading and gardening!

I believe that everyone is doing the best they can with what they have yet sometimes we need additional support to navigate the challenges of life. Being a child or youth can be challenging for a variety of reasons, and it can be hard as a caregiver to see your children struggle. I will work alongside you and your child to explore the changes you wish to make while gaining awareness and insights into why these situations occur. Collaboratively we will talk about and discuss your specific concerns while exploring the benefits of mind-body connections, routine and structure, and learning about building a better relationship with those you love.

I hope that you will find a genuine approach, a safe and welcoming space, and an opportunity to share, explore and navigate the journey that you are on.

Hello, my name is Erica Hall (she/her). I am a student Art Therapist and the latest intern to join the Journey Well Health & Wellness team.

I’ve been passionate about art for as long as I can remember, and after over 15 years of personal therapy experience, I’ve gained a real appreciation for how creativity can be a powerful tool for healing. This journey led me to pursue a career as an art therapist through the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy, where I’m currently refining my skills to help others unlock their own transformative potential through art.

Along the way, I’ve had the chance to wear many different hats, each one helping me grow in unique ways. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University and my MUA Certification from CMU in Toronto. As a makeup artist, I loved helping people feel more confident and express themselves through aesthetics. I also worked as a Community Life Facilitator, where I helped create welcoming supportive spaces for people from all walks of life, fostering a sense of belonging and connection.

People often describe me as friendly, approachable, and full of positive energy. I try to bring a blend of creativity and compassion to everything I do. My personal experiences and my ongoing studies in art therapy allow me to offer a warm, understanding presence as I guide and support others on their own healing journeys.

If you’re looking for a safe and welcoming space to explore your feelings through art, I’d love to work with you. My goal is to provide a meaningful, engaging experience that helps you grow, discover new insights, and reach your fullest potential.

You can reach Erica directly at (226) 253-0505 or via our main phone number (226) 253-0864, ext. 210. Erica can also be reached via email at: erica@journeywell.ca.
